It’s nice out today, but the National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for Riverside and San Bernardino counties because of a temperature spike expected Thursday and Friday.
An upper-level high-pressure system will bring near-record highs — 100 and better in many areas — and gusty northeast winds below canyons and passes.
The NWS is warning that the hot, dry weather could cause heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
Saturday is expected to be a little cooler, with much cooler temperatures on Sunday.
