New UCR chancellor to be named Thursday

The University of California Board of Regents is expected to name a new UC Riverside chancellor at its Thursday meeting at UCLA.

According to a UCR press release, the board will meet in a closed session at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, then in open session at 9 a.m. to approve the new chancellor’s pay.

The new chancellor will leave the UCLA campus and head to Riverside, where a 4 p.m. welcome is scheduled for University Theatre; that will be webcast from UCR’s home page.

The previous UCR chancellor, France A. Córdova, is now president of Purdue University.
