The following information has been provided by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
The Norco Office of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department conducted a Sobriety/Driver’s License Safety Checkpoint on May 3, 2008. It began at 8:00 p.m., ending on May 4, 2008, at 3:00 a.m. The checkpoint was located on Hamner Avenue and First Street, in the City of Norco.
A total of 790 vehicles entered the checkpoint and a total of 530 drivers were screened. Twenty-nine drivers were given Field Sobriety Tests; which resulted in seven drivers being arrested for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and/or drugs.
A total of fifty-five drivers were issued citations. Additionally three people were arrested for outstanding misdemeanor warrants; one person was arrested for possession of control substance and one was arrested for outstanding felony warrant.
