Craigslist used to lure robbery victim

A man trying to buy a PlayStation 3 game console by using craigslist was instead robbed at gunpoint on in Moreno Valley on Monday night.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, a man said he’d made arrangements to meet someone selling a PlayStation in front of a Cedar Creek Terrace home.

When the victim arrived at the site, a man approached, pointed a handgun at him and took his money. The suspect then ordered the victim to drive out of the neighborhood.

Police contacted the residents at the address, who had no knowledge of the suspect or the incident.

Later Monday night, officers were told that the suspect was near Bay Avenue and Chagall Court. Joseph Hill, 24, of Moreno Valley was arrested and charged with armed robbery; the victim’s property was recovered.
