An extra half-inch on June ballots will cost voters an extra 17 cents to mail back.
According to the Riverside County Registrar of Voters, postal officials have said some ballots weigh in at 1 ounce, the limit for 42-cent first-class mailĀ — but others are 1.1 ounces, which requires 59 cents in postage.
The June ballots are slightly larger than the ones used in the February primaries.
The Registrar’s office will accept ballots that have already been mailed.
Those who wish to vote by mail must put the extra postage on their ballots or hand-deliver them to the Registrar of Voters office at 2724 Gateway Drive in Riverside; ballots can also be dropped off at any Riverside County voting place by 8 p.m. on election day.
