A La Mesa man died Monday morning after being found unresponsive near the site of the Coachella music festival.

According to the Riverside County coroner’s office, Benjamin Nicholas Muller, 21, died at 11:21 a.m. Monday in the emergency room at JFK Hospital in Indio.

No further details have been released.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts was held Friday through Sunday at Empire Polo in Indio.

According to promoter Goldenvoice, Muller was found at an unsanctioned campground near the festival site, not at the venue’s camp sites.
