Zenaida “Zeny” Wi Cortez age 72, resident of Lake Elsinore, CA for 3 years, formerly of Maui, Hawaii for 26 years, passed away 12/18/2009 at Inland Valley Medical Hospital.

Zenaida was a Cook at Tokyo Tei Restaurant and Cupies Drive-Inn, each for 10 years, in Maui, Hawaii, retiring from the restaurant business. She attended the University of Manila (Philippines) majoring in Nursing.

Zenaida is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Leopoldo (Leo) Habon Cortez of Hawaii; daughters, Henedina (Mario) Parilla of Lake Elsinore, CA, Marilyn (Ricardo) Mercado of Santa Maria, CA, Ester (Mark) Felipe and Rosalinda (Lawrence, Jr.) Inamasu, all of Hawaii; son Ferdinand (Kimberly) Cortez of Antioch, CA; brothers, Edgardo R. Wi of the Philippines, Norberto R. Wi of Pinole, CA, Anastacio R. Wi Jr. and Francisco R. Wi, both of the Philippines; sister, Carmelita W. Queri of the Philippines; grandchildren, Diane, Denise, Darlene and Destiny Parilla of Lake Elsinore, Angel Mercado of Santa Maria, CA, Barton, Nolan and Jaimelee Felipe and Kristy, Jordan and Anisha Inamasu, all of Hawaii, Marisol of Utah and Cameron and Sheldon of Hawaii.

Visitation 12/28/09, from 4-8:30pm with Rosary at 7pm at Evans-Brown Mortuary, 126 E. Graham Ave., Lake Elsinore, CA, 92530. Viewing on 12/29/09 at St. Frances of Rome from 9am-10am with Mass at 10am. Burial to follow Mass at Riverside National Cemetery, 1:15pm, Staging Area #2. There will be a special Memorial Service held at Christ the King Church in Maui, Hawaii on January 9, 2010.
