Three men have been arrested for allegedly holding one man at the Ramona Bowl while his friend was kidnapped and forced to withdraw money from a Hemet bank over the weekend.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the two victims told police they met three men at a San Jacinto Wal-Mart on Sunday; all five drove to the Ramona Bowl in Hemet. Once there, 20-year-old Jarrod Shaw of San Jacinto allegedly hit one of the victims with metal knuckles and forced him into a trunk. The other suspects — 20-year-old Johnny Rister and 19-year-old Darrell Settle, both of Moreno Valley — held the second victim at the Ramona Bowl.
There were no public events scheduled for the venue on Sunday.
Shaw allegedly drove the first victim to the Union Bank of California and forced him to withdraw $480, and then drove back to the bowl.
The suspects then told the victims to lie face-down and drove off with the cash.
On Tuesday, investigators identified and arrested the suspects. Shaw was booked on charges of kidnap for robbery, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. Rister and Settle were booked for robbery and false imprisonment.
