The street in front of Riverside’s Mission Inn was elbow-to-elbow Friday evening when the hotel’s massive light display was switched on in what has become a local holiday tradition.
As if the miles of lights, giant nutcrackers and animatronic carolers weren’t enough, the sky above sparkled with an impressive fireworks display.
As the smoke cleared after the fireworks, much of the crowd walked down Main Street to the free Festival of Trees at the Riverside Convention Center. The annual event, which raises funds for the Riverside County Regional Medical Center; the trees will be open to the public through Sunday afternoon. For details, click here.
There was also hot chocoate, funnel cakes, live music, kettle corn, ice skating and a chance to visit with Santa as people milled along the pedestrian mall.
