Thomas Scranton, age 83 passed away at his home on August 30, 2009 after an extended illness. He was born in Goodrich, Michigan on April 26, 1926.
He joined the U.S. Navy during World War II and served on board the USS West Virginia. After discharge he moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he met Ruth, his wife of 60 years. In 1957 they moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
His expertise in the solar energy field led him to form his own company. In 1976 he and his family moved to Escondido, Ca. where he owned and operated Sunward Mechanical, a commercial heating and a/c company until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Ruth, sons Jason and Todd and a daughter Jill Landry.
It is not surprising that he will be laid to rest at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. He had plans to settle in San Diego when they left Cleveland in 1976 and became side tracked in Phoenix instead.
The memorial service will be on November 2, 2009 at 11:00am at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Evans Brown Mortuary (951) 679-1114 Dignified • Caring • Professional
