Arrest at Temecula home after owner said her father was making drugs

Temecula news headline provided by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department:

On February 2, 2010, about 6:39 p.m., officers responded to 29774 Calle Pantano regarding a report by the home owner that her father was manufacturing drugs at the location. Responding officers arrived at the location and detained John Dale Mann, 48, of Casper, Wyoming for further investigation.

With the assistance of a United States Border Patrol K-9 team, searched the home resulting in the location of a quart size jar suspected to contain ephedrine. Ephedrine is a primary ingredient used to manufacture methamphetamine. Other materials and paraphernalia commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine were also located.

Officers secured the scene while the Riverside County Sheriff’s Special Investigation Bureau responded to the scene to determine if drug manufacturing was occurring at the home. The investigation determined John Mann was in the process manufacturing ephedrine which could be used later to manufacture methamphetamine.

John Mann was arrested for the manufacturing of ephedrine and being under the influence of methamphetamine. He was later booked into the Southwest Detention Center.

The Special Investigation Bureau removed all hazardous materials from the home which rendered the home safe for the other residents.
