Two men are being held and a third is being sought in connection with an assault with a deadly weapon — a skateboard — and burglary.
According to the Murrieta Police Department, Matthew Riddle, 34, and David Cervantes, 21, both of Murrieta, walked past a home in the 24500 block of Calle San Vicente shortly before 10 p.m. and then returned to for a confrontation about a stolen bicycle. Riddle and Cervantes allegedly assaulted the victim in the home’s garage; two to three additional suspects appeared and aided in assaulting the victim and a witness. One apparently hit the victim in the head with the skateboard, causing injuries.
An arriving officer saw several subjects running from the area; three were detained. One was injured after climbing a fence and falling some 20 feet into a water basin.
The man who wielded the skateboard got away; he is described as Hispanic or Asian and between 20 and 25, with a thin, rimmed mustache and short, black hair.
Riddle and Cervantes were booked for assault with a deadly weapon and burglary.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call (951) 696-3615.
