Stephen Michael Whitehead passed away at home surrounded by family and friends on November 19, 2009 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 52. He battled cancer for two years, giving it a good fight right up to the very end. Stephen was born on April 12, 1957 in Coronado Island, CA.

Stephen retired after working as a grocery warehouseman for over 20 years. He moved to Lake Havasu 8 years ago from Hemet, CA. Stephen loved to take out the boat and spend time out on the river with family and friends. He also enjoyed going to the car shows.

Stephen leaves behind his beloved wife, Chris Whitehead of Lake Havasu; two daughters, Amanda and Laura Whitehead of Lake Havasu; mother, Barbara (Bob) Kershaw of Rancho Palos Verde, CA; brother, Rick (Cindy) Whitehead of Riverside, CA; sisters, Julie (Doug) Wible of Riverside, CA and Suzanne (Blake) Usilton of Corona, CA; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Selma Cox; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Cox and Johnnie (Susan) Cox; sister-in-law, Tracey (Jay) Longest and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Whitehead; grandparents and niece Christina Whitehead.

A celebration of life will take place on Monday, November 30, 2009, 6:00 pm at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Words of comfort and inspiration will be provided by Stephen’s brother-in-law, Doug Wible.
