A small brush fire is burning several acres north of Perris.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the blaze was reported at 2 p.m. at Harvill and Water avenues, near Interstate 215.

The fire burned at least three acres, with the potential of burning 10; at 3 p.m., the blaze had spread into a pile of tires.

The cause is under investigation.
