Rucker latest addition to Stagecoach

Darius Rucker — best known as the lead singer for Hootie and the Blowfish — is the latest addition to the Stagecoach lineup, at least according to Pollstar.

Rucker proved he had a good set of pipes as the lead singer for the pop outfit; the transition to country singer has proved surprisingly smooth. His latest solo album, “Learn to Live,” was released last month, and “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” hit the top of the charts, making him the first black artist to do so since Charlie Pride.

There’s no official announcement on anything but the datesĀ  for Stagecoach, but the very-reliable Pollstar (it gets its information from management and booking agencies) lists several acts for the Indio festival’s first day, April 25 — Rucker, Chris Cagle, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver and the Charlie Daniels Band.
