San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom has quit the race for California Governor. He campaigned locally, and held a town hall in Riverside on August 20.

Locally, four candidates are running for Mayor of Riverside. They include incumbent Ron Loveridge, former member of the council Art Gage. Two write-in candidates have qualified as candidates; they are Ken Stansbury, a Riverside artist, and Troy Kent, a senior at Arlington High School.
