Robert William Munson, age 88, of Hemet, California, where he lived for 18 years, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2008 at his residence. Robert was born on December 27, 1919 in Norwalk, California.

Robert was a member of the American Legion Post-Inglewood, CA, Hemet High VFW Memorial Post #12023, Hemet Elks Lodge #1740. He was an instructor and recipient of the Silver Beaver Boy Scouts Award. He served in the Boys Scouts for 15 years. He retired as Chief of Staff of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and from Rockwell International. He loved fishing and camping. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Genevieve Munson of Hemet; sons Jon Munson of Moreno Valley and Brian Munson of Gardnerville, Nevada and three grandchildren, Suzi, Scott, and Patrick.

Funeral service and interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery,  Staging Area #2 at 11:15am, Thursday, December 4, 2008.
