Raul Mercado, Sr.

Raul Mercado, Sr., age 52 of Riveside, entered eternal rest on Monday following a long, courageous battle against cancer. Born in Los Angeles, Raul was the beloved son of Jose and the late Amelia Mercado.

He was a high school graduate, class of 1975, who married high school sweetheart Anna. Together, they shared more than 29 years together, devoted to one another and their children. For many years, Raul had worked as a truck driver. He deeply loved his family and was devoted to their well being.

In addition to making others comfortable, sharing humor and jokes to make them laugh, he was proud of all of them, as well, especially his grandchildren.

Raul leaves his dear wife Anna, his children Marina (and Mario), Lisa (and Robert), Raul Jr. (and Margaritta), Bernadette Mercado and “as much his own children” his grandchildren: Isabel, Jose Alberto, Amelia and Maricruz, his 2 grandchildren: Moriah and George, his dad, Jose Guadalupe Mercado, brother Gabriel and sisters Carmela Villa, Rosemary Aguilera, Betty Lam and Cecilia Huerta, as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Raul now joins his late beloved mother, Amelia in eternity. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Walker Family Funeral Services.
