Three people were injured Saturday night when a pickup truck plowed all the way into an Indio apartment building.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the truck drove into two units of an eight-unit apartment building at 46450 Rubidoux Street at 10:42 p.m. Saturday.
Two residents were trapped under debris and suffered moderate injuries; the vehicle’s driver was listed in critical condition.
Damage to the building’s first floor compromised the second level. Eighteen residents were displaced; five needed placement help from the Red Cross.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
