The following information has been provided by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
On June 29, at approximately 5:46 p.m., officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department were dispatched to the area of Lincoln Street, cross of Flannery Street, on a reported stabbing in progress.
On arrival the officers located a male subject at the Northlake Apartments suffering from a single stab wound. The victim, later identified as Larry Perez, 35, of Perris, was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and underwent emergency surgery, but later succumbed to his injuries and died.
Investigators from the Lake Elsinore Police and Sheriff’s Central Homicide were summoned to the scene to assist in the investigation. Investigators learned that Perez had been arguing with three to four Hispanic males in a dark-colored four-door truck prior to becoming involved in a physical altercation and subsequently stabbed.
The suspects, in their early twenties, fled the scene in a dark-colored, full-size pickup truck.
