crane-scott.jpg Scott Crane was born to Nancy Lee and Daryl Crane in Miami, Florida on March 11, 1948 and passed away in Wildomar, California on November 27, 2009.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Sheila Kinnane Crane; 5 children Kristin Farnsworth (Ryan), Jill Riske (Whit), A.J. Crane, Patrick Crane, & Jeffrey Crane; grandson Charles Scott Farnsworth; Father Daryl Crane, Sr.; 3 siblings Stephen Crane (Nancy), Jeffrey Crane, & Kathleen Hugins (Rick); sister-in-law Sandy Crane; Aunt Marie & Uncle Tom Harrington; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Scott attended the University of Florida and received his Bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University. He then pursued and received his Master of Science in Health Care Administration degree from Trinity University.

Professionally, Scott was a Health Care Executive for over 35 years and served in many different capacities, most recently as Director of Development for Universal Health Services, Inc. Previously he served as the CEO of Southwest Healthcare System and as Universal Health Service’s Vice President of Managed Care. He was also a past President of the United Hospital Association.

Scott lived and loved his work. Scott was also very involved in the community which he loved and in which he lived. He was a member of St. Martha’s Catholic Church where he served as Chairman of the Finance Council. He also served on the Executive Committees of many Board of Directors, including Hospice of the Valleys, the Economic Development Corp of Southwest County, Commerce Bank of Temecula Valley, the Murrieta Temecula Group, and was a founding Board Member of the Southwest California Legislative Council and was a past Chairman of the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce.

Scott’s hobbies included sports, music, surfing, BBQ’ing, snow skiing, making family trips to Maine and elsewhere around the country, and spending time at the beach. His greatest joy was to watch his 3 sons play Arsenal club and Great Oak High School soccer and football at both Great Oak and Temecula Valley High School. He also was a wine connoisseur and a big history buff - he is a direct descendent of Col. John Crane, a Revolutionary War hero and participant in the Boston Tea Party, which he loved telling stories about.

A visitation will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. with a vigil and rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at Evans Brown Sun City Chapel. The funeral mass will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martha’s Catholic Church with the interment to follow at Temecula Cemetery.
