Mario Bianco

bianco.jpg Mario Bianco Soldier, Brother, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and Cousin passed away on October 27, 2009. Born to Filippo and Natalina Bianco on May 21, 1922 in the vineyards of Mr. Guasti’s Italian Vineyard Company.

In 1942 Mario joined the United States Army and served under General George Patton in the 1st Infantry Division. He saw battle from North Africa to the Battle of the Bulge. Returning to his wine making roots he began his career at the Cucamonga Vintage Company and in 1952 started as the cellar master at the historic Galleano Winery.

Living at the winery Mario raised his family; Cheryl, Stephen and Dawn. Always a dedicated single father, his devotion to his children will live on. His passion for all things Italian; music, food, cooking and family brought great joy to all he touched.

Preceded in death by his wife Armida and his brother Alex.

Mario is survived by his three children, sister Mary Dufour, 6 grandchildren and his 4 great grandsons.

Rosary and services will be held at 10am Thursday at Drapers Mortuary on Mountain Ave. in Ontario, California. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the charity of your choice.
