Marcella Sivert Rogers

Marcella Sivert Rogers 1924-2008 joined Christ and loved ones on New Year’s Eve morning.

Marcella is survived by her sister, Mea Joy Waits of Texas; her children: David and Tilly Sivert of Victorville, Lynn and Doug Edwards of Lake Havasu, AZ, Phillip and Pat Sivert of Temecula, Marian Ogilvie of Riverside, and Margie Sivert of Mira Loma; 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; nephew, Richard Allinson of NC, and the Waits family of TX and MS.

Marcella was born in Greenville, TX, the third daughter of H.J. and Ina Worden King of MS and TX.

Sisters, Dorothy Juan Barbin of OH, and Francis Marion DeMetriff of CA, preceded Marcella in death.

She moved to Southern California in 1947, met and married Mark Sivert of MN, and raised five children. She worked in the aerospace industry, retiring from Rockwell International after 32 years in 1990. Marcella moved to Mira Loma in 1970 with second husband, Wade Rogers, and enjoyed living on her “little hill”, gardening and gathering with family.

She and companion Pete Schwartz enjoyed camping and playing dominoes. She was a life long lover of dancing, music, reading and playing cards. She ended her days at home surrounded by loved ones.

Memorial Service will be conducted Friday, January 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. in Akes Family’s “Chapel Of The Chimes”. A gathering of family and friends will follow the service. Arrangements Entrusted To The Care Of Riverside, CA. (951) 785-4071
