Lake Elsinore news headline from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department:
Officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Team will be deploying officers on a special saturation patrol this week to crack down on drunk driving in the city’s ongoing effort to improve traffic safety, save lives and prevent injuries.
Lake Elsinore Police will be conducting this “Zero Tolerance” DUI Saturation Patrol on Friday, February 5th, targeting those who still don’t heed the message to designate a sober driver before their celebrations begin. Funding for the patrol is through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Over the course of the past two years, DUI collisions have claimed nine lives and seriously injured thirteen of our friends and neighbors in the City of Lake Elsinore.
