On Thursday at about 11:30 p.m., officers from the La Quinta Police Department on routine patrol came across a large plasma television sitting in the roadway in the area of Avenida Hererra and Avenida Montezuma in the north part of the La Quinta Cove.

The officers began an investigation into the origins of the television. A few hours later the officers learned of a burglary at a nearby residence in the 51100 block of Avenida Velasco.

The officers developed information indicating Gustavo Espinoza, 20, and Mario Espinoza, 19, who both lived nearby, had burglarized their neighbor’s home while the neighbor was out of town.

Gustavo and Mario were arrested and booked at the jail for residential burglary.
