Big loss for owner of KFI-AM and KOST-FM

clearchannel.jpg CC Media Holdings, Inc., known as Clear Channel, has posted a massive loss of $418 million for the first quarter of 2009.

Recently the company has shed many well-known on-air employees. At the end of April, layoffs affected some KOST-FM on-air talent, including Ted Ziegenbusch, and Brie Tennis.

In Riverside, the company owns several radio stations, including KGGI (99.1 FM), where two off-air employees were laid off.

The company CEO, Mark P. Mays, said in a statement that, “Our companies performed well on a relative basis in a difficult economic environment.”
