Earthquakes hit Joshua Tree seconds apart

quakebasic.jpgTwo small earthquakes were detected in Joshua Tree overnight. The first happened at 8:35 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2010, it was 2.4 in magnitude. That quake was followed by a similar event within 13 seconds.

The second quake also had a magnitude of 2.4, according to the USGS.

There have been no reports of damage.
