It is great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother Josephine Marie Pilliter age 90, resident of Riverside, CA for 54 years, passed away 12/21/2009 at Loma Linda University Hospital, due to natural causes. Josephine was born 11/1/1919 in Webster, NY.

She was a homemaker for 70 years. She had a PHD in grandmothering/great-grandmothering; on Deans List at Riverside City College; received numerous 1st place awards for quilting, knitting, macrame at numerous county fairs; member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and loved to write poetry.

Josephine is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Scoville of El Centro, CA, Jackie Psharra and Tina Marie Monroe, both of Riverside, CA; son, Charles Pilliter of Whittier, CA; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel M. Pilliter and son, Timothy Pilliter.

Visitation Saturday, 12/26/09 from 5pm-8pm with a Rosary at 6pm at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer. Funeral Mass, Monday, 12/28/09 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with a burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Acheson & Graham Mortuary (951) 688-1221
