He attended Lake Elsinore High School for 2 years and was an auto mechanic for several years.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Robin Phillips; daughter, Melissa of Moreno Valley, CA; son, Robert of Moreno Valley, CA; mother, Mrs. Jean Phillips of Lake Elsinore, CA; brother, Eugene Phillips of Lake Elsinore, CA; sister, Frances Darr of Riverside, CA; 2 grandchildren.
