Joe D. Sillivent, 89, of Hemet, died Dec. 17, 2009, at Hemet Valley Medical Center.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 29 at Bellevue Cemetery in Ontario. Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet is handling arrangements.

Mr. Sillivent, who was born in Texas, lived in Hemet 21 years. He was an electrical engineer for 38 years.

He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for three years and received a Good Conduct Medal.

Mr. Sillivent also won the American Victory Medal and American Campaign Medal.

He enjoyed reading and watching television.

Mr. Sillivent is survived by a son, Martin; two stepsons, Paul Jones and Richard Owen, and his wife, Lonna; and a niece.
