James “Jim” Grady

jamesgrady.jpg James “Jim” Grady, long time Riverside resident, passed away at home on 11/1/09, he was 79 years old.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Maxine Grady.

He is survived by his son James G. “Jim” Grady and his daughter Lori Markin; his grandchildren Jessica Grady, Kelly Grady, Kyle Markin and Kevin Markin all from Riverside and his sister Mary Cota of Evansdale Iowa.

Jim retired in 1990 from E.L. Yeager Construction Co. after a long career as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. Jim was born in Waukon IA in 1929 and served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jim enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, fishing, repairing antique engines and collecting John Deere memorabilia.

A visitation will be held from noon until 1 p.m. on Friday 11/6 at Arlington Mortuary, 9645 Magnolia Ave. Riverside, CA. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, staging area #5. Jim will be missed by those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to the Visiting Nurses Association of the Inland Counties, 6235 River Crest Drive Ste. L, Riverside, CA 92507.
