The funeral and public memorial for Michael Jackson will likely take place in Los Angeles — not at the singer’s Neverland Ranch, which is in a rural area north of Santa Barbara.

The Jackson family confirmed plans, and a source close to concert promoter AEG told CNN that the funeral was now being scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the funeral/memorial will happen at 10 a.m. July 7, exactly seven years from the date of Michael Jackson’s will.

According to the Staples Center website, the Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus begins a multiple-date engagement on July 8.
