Riverside County news headline:
The county will hold its first H1N1 flu clinic that is open to the public in Hemet on Nov. 23.
The H1N1 flu vaccination continues to be available only for people in the priority groups. Both the nasal spray and injectable versions will be available for about 2,000 people in the following groups:
· Individuals age 6 months to 24 years. Children age 2 to 12 will receive nasal spray.
· Caregivers of infants less than 6 months of age.
· Pregnant women
· People who work in health care or emergency medical services
· Adults age 25 to 64 with chronic medical conditions
The H1N1 mass vaccination clinic will be held at the Simpson Center, 305 Devonshire Ave. in Hemet from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Residents over age 64 are currently not eligible to receive the H1N1 vaccine. Residents are encouraged to check first with their regular medical providers to receive the H1N1 flu vaccine. Information about flu clinics and vaccine availability at the county’s 10 family care centers is available by calling 2-1-1.
The county Department of Public Health reminds residents that there are steps they can take to protect their health and slow the spread of illness. People with flu-like symptoms should stay home from work or school to avoid infecting others. Everyone should wash their hands regularly and cover their coughs and sneezes.
