The future of the Gottschalks at the Riverside Plaza could include a massive version of the women’s-apparel company Forever 21.
In an auction for the assets of Gottschalks on Thursday, Forever 21 made a $17.7 million bid for 17 of the Gottschalks locations, including the Riverside Plaza store.
Riverside Plaza manager Carol Scott describes the situation as “very fluid,” but she said that the historic building, which was once Harris’, will not be going away.
The multi-million dollar bid made by Forever 21 is subject to final approval by a bankruptcy judge on June 22.
Gottschalks is expected to depart the Riverside Plaza location by the end of June, according to Scott.
