Fire news headline from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department:

On Friday, February 5, at approximately 9:00 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Mountain Drive in the unincorporated area of San Bernardino for a residential fire. The residence was almost fully engulfed when the fire department arrived on scene.

After the fire was put out, the bodies of Gilbert Smith, 77, and Maria Muro, 70, were found deceased inside of the residence. The fire was blocking the only exit to the residence. Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire, which has yet to be determined.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
