Gerald James Gabriel, age 70, of San Jacinto, passed away Monday, December 14, 2009, at Kaiser in Riverside. Mr. Gabriel was born in Panama Canal Zone, and was raised in Pennsylvania.
He moved to Orange County and lived there for over 30 years. He then moved to Hemet, where met and married his wife, Irene in 1987. Gerald worked in the construction industry as a plumber for 30 years. He enjoyed horse racing, playing poker and working in his yard. He was also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Irene; step-children Angie Gomez, Patrina Gomez; sister Mary Gabriel; brothers Richard and Charles Gabriel; grandchild Mille Mercado; nieces and nephews, Mitchel, Kevin, David, Andrew, MaryMargaret, Louise Gabriel, Michelle Chamberlin; 3 grand nieces and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Gabriel.
He will be missed by all his loved ones and friends from AA.
Arrangements are being handled by Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory, where family will receive friends on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 12pm, with a funeral service at 1pm.
