George Beard passed away peacefully with family at his side on November 27, 2009. George was born June 20, 1920 in McGalloway, Maine to Angus and Beatrice Beard.

He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was an avid boxer competing as a light feather weight for many years. After the war George worked as a tool and die maker and lived in Santa Ana, CA until he retired in 1985. He then moved to Hemet and worked as a commissioned Security Officer for the Deutch until 1999. George enjoyed a very full life, he loved to spend time with family as well as walking, biking, traveling, and calling Bingo at the Golden Coach Manor.

George is survived by his devoted, long time companion, JoAnn Smythe; sister, Betty O’Connell; two children, George W. Beard Jr., Ruth “Cookie” Kelsey; six grandchildren, Sarah Reyes, Nichole Powell, Graham Beard, Adrienne Beard, Grand Beard and Gerret Beard; three great-grandchildren, Isabell, Angelina and Jeremy Jr.
