Gary Dixon

garydixon.jpg Gary Dixon 55, of Ventura, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 after a one-year battle with cancer. He was born July 11, 1953 in Oakridge, Tennessee, and had been a Ventura County resident 21 years, coming from Northern California.

Gary grew up in Colton, California and was a graduate of Colton High School. He enjoyed various occupations throughout his lifetime. He worked in electrical neon signs for 20 years, as a school district employee for 5 years and spent the most recent 4 years as a mobile locksmith for his own business, ACE Lock, Key and Safe.

Gary belonged to the Gold Coast Locksmith Association and Bible Fellowship Church,and loved golf, hiking, motorcycle riding and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26½ years, Debi; children: Stephen of Ventura and Renee, serving in the United States Army in Oklahoma; brothers, Keith Dixon of Benicia, California and Michael Dixon of Carson City, Nevada; step-brothers, Jimmy Snow of Universal City, Chris Snow of Los Angeles and Mark Dixon of Gardenville, Nevada; step-father, James Snow of San Clemente; step-mother, Beth Dixon of Gardenville; daughter-in-law, Sabrina Dixon and granddaughter, Kiley Dixon, both of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and niece, Nicole Dixon of Antioch.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Bible Fellowship Church, 6950 Ralston St., Ventura, with Pastor Daniel Hahn officiating. Arrangements are under the direct of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home and Crematory 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura.
