A wildfire near the Quail Ranch Golf Course west of San Jacinto burned approximately 75 acres Thursday afternoon.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the blaze was reported at 11:19 a.m. at Gilman Springs Road near State Route 79, parts of which were closed as firefighters fought the blaze.

At 12:45 p.m., the fire was declared contained and fixed-wing aircraft crews were released. Ground crews were scheduled to remain at the site for several hours.
