Ethel Hoover age 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, December 7, 2009, in San Bernardino. Ethel was born in Iowa, and was a resident of San Bernardino for 50 years.

She lived her life in the service of her family and others. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Our Saviors Lutheran Church both of San Bernardino.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael Hoover (Christeen) of Layton, Utah, and Mark Hoover (Sally) of San Bernardino; two daughters, Sherry Coats (Jeff) of Laurel, Maryland, and Spring Gregory of Riverside; 2 sisters; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth, son, Steven H. Hoover and a brother, John Detlefsen.

Graveside Services were held Thursday, December 10, 2009, 9:15 A.M. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside CA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Trinity Lutheran Church, 2900 North E. St., San Bernardino, CA 92410 or Redlands Community Hospital Hospice, 350 Terracina Blvd., Redlands, CA 92373.
