Elsa S. Peterson, age 80, of Hemet, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at Manor Care Convalescent Hospital. She was born in Salinas, California, and lived in Hemet for 24 years. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, and spending time with family.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Royal Peterson; daughters Lee (Glenn) Galloway of Redding, Debi (Bud) Cartner, and Jeri (Kirk) Lamar of Temecula; 7 grandchildren Tom Chance, Stacey Woodard, Brian Chance, of California; Eric Andrews and Jennifer Garner, of Texas; Chad Lamar and Tanya Lamar of California; 9 great-grandchildren Zachary Steyer, Samantha Chance, Gatlin Chance, of California; Aspen Chance, Benjamin Chance, Crescent Chance, of Hawaii; Samantha Andrews, Courtney Garner and Amber Garner of Texas.

Arrangements are being handled by Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory. Interment will be private at Riverside National Cemetery at a later date.
