Edward “Ed” Rhodes 11/29/1937 ~ 10/29/2009

On October 29th, surrounded by family at home, Edward “Ed” Rhodes passed away into the arms of the Lord, after a hard fought battle with cancer since March 2009. Susie (Lopez), his faithful and loving wife of 37 years, cared for him until the Lord called him home. He was born in Pratt, Kansas, and moved to California at the age of 21.

A few years later, he began his trade as a Journeyman glazier, and retired from Palm Springs Mirror and Glass after 33 years of service. He was also known in the Pass area for Ed’s Tree Service, where served the area for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Susie (Lopez) Rhodes, children Kenny Rhodes (Beth) of Banning, CA; Janet Helton of Syracuse, Kansas; AmyHall of Riverside, CA; Ryan Rhodes Sr. (Anna) of Banning, CA; Rina Martin (James) of Banning, CA; 12 grandchildren - Jennifer, Jeremy, Leah, Nathan, Jay, Jamie, Ryan Jr, Daniel, Desirae, Raelene, Riley, Dylan; 3 great-grandchildren; sister Virginia Randolph (Curt) of Pratt, Kansas, 1 younger brother, and numerous nieces and nehews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Edward “Ed” Rhodes and Opal Verla Rhodes, both of Pratt, Kansas.

He loved to travel, bake cakes for his children’s birthdays, fish, and spend time at Casino Morongo on the Keno Machines.

Services will be held at the Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, Banning. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Thursday, November 5th. Rosary from 7-8pm following the visitation.
