Some 17,500 tickets will be distributed for either Michael Jackson’s memorial at the Staples Center or screens across the street at the Nokia Theatre on Tuesday morning; register at www.staplescenter.com (which was jammed Friday morning) through Saturday. Those who get through and get tickets will be notified on Sunday and have to pick up their free tickets and wristbands on Monday.
Police will block off the area downtown and are urging people who don’t have tickets to watch from home. The event will be available online.
