David Burt Utiger, 79, of Hemet, died Nov. 2, 2009, at his home in Hemet.

Services are private. Interment will be private in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet is handling arrangements.

Mr. Utiger, who was born in Illinois, lived in Hemet five years. He was a bus driver for 43 years.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years during the Korean War.

Mr. Utiger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Utiger is survived by his wife, Doris; two children, Dale Utiger and Debra Slesser; a brother, Bob; a sister, Marian Jones; and three grandchildren.
