The following campaign statement has been written by Bill Scherer, a candidate in Ward 6:

BILL SCHERER AGE: 44
OCCUPATION: Mechanic
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Our Founding Fathers knew that prosperity comes when liberty is overseen by God, and that government, unbridled, suppresses liberty. It is up to communities like Riverside to elect those who believe in limited government, lower taxes, and the encouragement of prosperity through
freedom.

Communities like ours, across America, are feeling the pressure of expanding government at every level. They are rising up to strengthen
liberty, reward excellence, and secure the future for our children.

Riverside can lead the way. I know Ward Six. I work here, shop here, my two boys are Cub Scouts in the Ward, and I am a volunteer boxing coach at the Bryant Ranch Community Center. The Alvord school district is fortunate to have my wife as a substitute teacher and P.T.A member. It has the challenge of
educating my boys as well.

I believe that our Creator has placed liberty in the hearts of all people. I believe it is the duty of elected officials to protect that liberty. In defense of
these simple principles, I humbly ask to be your City Councilman.
