Ms. Bert Schubert (Alberta) was born June 21, 1939 and passed away peacefully on December 21, 2009.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Lea Bogle, granddaughter Nikki Bogle, and Susan Kincaid and Laura Wardwell. She was nicknamed Namaw by her granddaughter Nikki and loved dearly and known as Namaw by others in her extended family, including Jessika Wynne, (George), Katie Wardwell, Dylan Wardwell, Austin Wynne, Scarlett Redmond and baby Gavin along with her best buddy, Bailey, her little Jack Russell.
Bert was the first female Rotarian in the Ohio Valley and was an active Rotary member in the Sun City Menifee Valley Rotary Club where she held numerous offices including that of President.
Bert’s life is a tribute to a can-do attitude, graduating from college at age 40, after being run over by a car in her early 20’s and enduring over 20 bone surgeries and raising 2 children. She managed numerous hotel properties after graduation and was named as the top hotel manager in the country numerous times.
After learning of her cancer diagnosis, she moved to Texas to be with her daughter and granddaughter. Bert was named “Charlie” by her daughter because she was always saying “Good Grief”.
And so now we say “Good Grief” we can’t believe you’re gone.
A viewing will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 from 2-5 p.m. at Evans Brown Mortuary, located at 27010 Encanto Drive, Sun City, CA 92585. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, also at Evans Brown with burial to follow at Perris Valley Cemetery.
