The Wednesday brush fire that closed both sides of State Route 60 was caused by arcing power lines, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The fire burned 85 acres, and was under control as of 6:00 p.m. Thursday. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the blaze was reported at 3:09 p.m. Wednesday at the 60 near Jack Rabbit Trail.
