The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim held the Boston Red Sox to one run on Friday night, winning 4-1 in Anaheim.
The Angels now have a 2-0 lead over the Red Sox in the best-of-five series. The teams meet in Boston on Sunday.
Earlier Friday, the New York Yankees tied the Minnesota Twins in the bottom of the ninth and went on to win, 4-3, in 11 innings. The Yankees also have a 2-0 advantage going into Sunday’s game in Minnesota.
Saturday’s game betwen the Colorado Rockies and Philadelphia Phillies was postponed due to sub-freezing temperatures and snow; it’s supposed to warm up at least a little in the next 24 hours, so the teams are expected to meet Sunday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will meet the St. Louis Cardinals at 3 p.m. Saturday; the Dodgers have a 2-0 lead over the Cards, and a win would advance them to the NLCS.
