Car theft reported in Jurupa area with child inside

The following information has been provided by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

On Saturday June 27, 2009, at about 6:58 p.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Jurupa Valley Station, were dispatched to Rubidoux Blvd and 30th Street, at the AM-PM store, in the unincorporated Riverside County area.  They were called on a report of a stolen vehicle at the location.

The victim’s keys had been left inside the vehicle. It was also reported that a 7 year-old male was taken with the vehicle, a Dodge Durango. Deputies responding to the area, learned that the child had been released unharmed from the vehicle on the westbound Interstate Freeway off-ramp, at Rubidoux Blvd. The child was reunited with his parents.

A deputy later checking the area, observed the suspect crash the vehicle into a fence, in the area of Rubidoux Blvd and 26th Street. The suspect fled on foot from the vehicle, but was eventually apprehended.

Paul Fernando Bojorquez, 21, of Moreno Valley, was charged with Vehicle Theft and Kidnapping. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center, in the City of Riverside, on the indicated offenses.
