On November 08, 2009, at 7:09 p.m., deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station received a signal from a reported stolen vehicle’s Lojack system in the area of Bellgrave and Bain in the Mira Loma area. The vehicle was located and was occupied and being driven by a single suspect.
The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle by activating his marked patrol car’s emergency lights and siren. The suspect failed to pull over and a pursuit ensued.
During the pursuit the suspect made several attempts to collide with the deputy’s patrol car in an attempt to force him off of the road. The suspect eventually drove onto a dirt road in the area of Pedley Road and Granite Hill in Glen Avon and became stuck in the dirt.
The deputy exited his patrol car in an attempt to apprehend the suspect. While the deputy was out of his patrol car, the suspect attempted to run over the deputy by backing over him. Additional deputies arrived and helped apprehend the suspect. An assisting deputy was injured during the arrest of the suspect.
The suspect was identified as Adam Mason Perry (pictured above), 29, of Riverside. He was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for 245 ( c ) PC- Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a peace officer, auto theft, and obstructing a peace officer.
